Organizations & Management in a Global Context

The module teaches to critically reflect upon the significance of key theories of human behavior with respect to the management of people and organizations and the impact of cross-cultural differences in the context of a rapidly changing business environment. Throughout the module you will be able to:
  • develop an in depth understanding how managerial performance can be enhanced through its effective management;
  • critically reflect and evaluate implications within the global context;
  • develop an ability to integrate the management of human resources with other business and management disciplines.

Career & Leadership Journey

The module builds on the recommendations of joint research undertaken by the Association of Business Schools (ABS) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).It aims to support leaders in their personal and professional development through an emphasis on the refining of leadership, emotional intelligence, team working, communication & influencing skills, creativity & innovative thinking. Throughout the journey you will also be able to:
  • critically appraise your own leadership style/s and reflect on your strengths and weaknesses;
  • integrate insights generated by self-assessment tools and other activities in your personal and professional development process.

Financial Management

This subject helps to demonstrate a critical understanding of modern finance models & theories and their application in an organizational context. You will do this by reviewing and analyzing the position and performance of organizations as revealed in their financial statements and stock market indicators in the case of listed companies or key performance indicators in the case of not for profit organizations. In addition you will explore recent theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence concerning financial management issues to be found in the academic literature and then you will work to make sense of these in a practical context.

Big Data & Business Analytics

The subject and teaching process will make you realize and experiment how big data is collected and stored, before going on to explore how statistical inference, machine learning, mathematical modeling and data visualization are used in its analysis. During the learning procedure you would be able to appreciate the challenges arising as a result of the interaction between IT capability, business demands as well as limitations placed on adoption of data driven decision making within organizations.

Operations Management

The module introduces students to the innovative strategies and scope of Operations Management within private and public sector operations in both service and manufacturing environments. The module explores operations strategy, process and capacity issues, supply chain management and improving operations. The learner will be able to: conceptualize real world problems using analytical frameworks drawn from operations theory; identify key factors and theories, critically analyze and evaluate the concepts and practices of operations strategy in different contexts; solve operations problems within different business environments; integrate evidence from a variety of sources to effect improvement in the operations performance and advise within the workplace on operation functions and strategy in both national and international contexts.

Marketing Principles & Practice

This module introduces the concept of marketing at both a strategic and tactical level. This subject introduce you to marketing and explains core principles in the context of organizations, business management practice and the changing business environment. The course covers the strategies for influencing customer behavior throughout the customer lifecycle. The students would be able to develop the skills to segment and target market opportunities and develop positioning strategies. The concept of Bright Ideas presentation which is a part of the module will help you to work on, environment analysis, STP, MARCOMS etc to feel real project through marketing mirror.

Operations Strategy

Operations Strategy module teaches to ensure that organizations achieve fit and operational sustainability. The module introduces the fundamental principles of Operations Strategies both in service and manufacturing. Upon the successful completion of the module you will be able to:
  • understand the principles of Operations Strategy in different business environments;
  • evaluate Operations Strategy practices and performance in different business environments;
  • present a business report of Operations Strategy.

Strategic Execution & Implementation

The module explores how strategy can be translated into action in organizations. It introduces a number of ideas as how the execution of strategy should be understood and related to different activities of the organization connected with the implementation of its different strategic options in terms of people, processes and technology. During the module you will:
  • address key strategic problems, issues and trade-offs associated with the execution of strategy in different contexts;
  • assess the importance of interdependence, co-operation, rivalry and network effects for strategic execution and outcomes;
  • develop critical techniques for designing, validating and refuting strategic recommendations, hypotheses and propositions.

Management Research Project

The module targets the formulation of a relevant business problem, the identification of a conceptual framework for the study, the definition of a method of investigation, the selection of appropriate and consistent methods for data collection and analysis, the specification of policy recommendation and the operational aspects of writing a business management report. Throughout the module you will learn to:
  • demonstrate clarity of problem definition and scope; critical evaluation of the existing tools and frameworks that inform the research, a case for the research methods employed; proficiency in the analysis and interpretation of the data;
  • design a programme of research, data collection, and analysis integrating research aims, data requirements, and methods of collection and analysis, and engaging with the practitioner to deliver a series of outcomes, benefits and recommendations.

Internships abroad

  • International Week in London. Internship at Kingston University at the end of 1st year of study.Choice of 2 elective courses in accordance with the curriculum.
  • Internship at the end of the 2nd year of study. Countries: Japan, Singapore, India, China, etc. Business visits to leading local companies in order to update the knowledge and skills gained during the courses, and to study modern trends.
The country of internship is chosen by students.

Admission Process

  • After receiving a candidate's application form, the first stage in our admissions process is to confirm that the candidate meets the criteria listed in the table above. So it is crucial for you to send us all the evidence and documents we require.
  • When we have determined that a candidate meets our criteria, we normally arrange an interview with the Dean ant the Russian Programme Director. This is either in a face-to-face meeting or by telephone.
  • After this step your application will be forwarded further and you will have interview with Academics from the UK. It can be a skype call or face- to -face interview.
  • Finally, you will receive the confirmation from Kingston University.
  • We will be in contact with you throughout the admissions process, after your initial application, so you know what the next step is on the route to your MBA.
