Programme structure

Organisations and Management in a Global Context

This module introduces students to a systemic approach to identifying, understanding and analysing macro, meso and micro issues, set within the global context, which have significant implications for the successful management of organisations and the people within them to produce appropriate detailed recommendations for organisational implementation. It introduces core theories and frameworks that guide systematic thinking about aspects of economic, institutional, and cultural diversity across and similarity between countries that matter in the context of managing a contemporary organisation.

Career and Leadership Journey

This course is designed to embark on a journey of personal and professional self-discovery and development. The module aims to prepare Senior Apprentices to meet Behavioral Standards for their End Point Assessment (EPA). The module builds on the recommendations of joint research undertaken by the Chartered Association of Business Schools (ABS) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

Big Data and Business Analytics

The subject and teaching process will make the student realize and experiment how big data is collected and stored, before going on to explore how statistical inference, machine learning, mathematical modeling and data visualization are used in its analysis. During the learning procedure the learner would be able to appreciate the challenges arising as a result of the interaction between IT capability, business demands as well as limitations placed on adoption of data driven decision making within organizations. The value part is the student would be able to take data and transform into strategic assets and will be well equipped to influence the strategy and decision making of an organization.

Marketing Principles & Practice

This module introduces the concept of marketing at both a strategic and tactical level. This subject introduce the student to marketing and explains core principles in the context of organizations, business management practice and the changing business environment. The course covers the strategies for influencing customer behavior throughout the customer lifecycle. The students would be able to develop the skills to segment and target market opportunities and develop positioning strategies. The concept of Bright Ideas presentation which is a part of the module will help to work on, environment analysis, STP, MARCOMS etc to feel real project through marketing mirror.

Financial Management

This subject helps to demonstrate a critical understanding of modern finance models & theories and their application in an organizational context. Student will do this by reviewing and analyzing the position and performance of organizations as revealed in their financial statements and stock market indicators in the case of listed companies or key performance indicators in the case of not for profit organizations. In addition learner will explore recent theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence concerning financial management issues to be found in the academic literature and then will work to make sense of these in a practical context.

Operations Management

The module introduces students to the innovative strategies and scope of Operations Management within private and public sector operations in both service and manufacturing environments. The module explores operations strategy, process and capacity issues, supply chain management and improving operations. The learner will be able to: conceptualize real world problems using analytical frameworks drawn from operations theory; identify key factors and theories, critically analyze and evaluate the concepts and practices of operations strategy in different contexts; solve operations problems within different business environments; integrate evidence from a variety of sources to effect improvement in the operations performance and advise within the workplace on operation functions and strategy in both national and international contexts.

Enterprise and Innovation

The module focuses on the skills necessary for the planning, development and launch of entrepreneurial and innovative ventures. The aim of this module is to enable the entrepreneurial manager to transform opportunities that make a difference to the world. It is done by the creation of a new venture start-up or to transform opportunities into innovative product development within an existing enterprise.

Responsible Management

This course introduces students to the roles of corporations in society and their accountability, accounting and reporting issues in the context of sustainability and social justice. The module provides a critical understanding of the concepts of business ethics, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and stakeholder management and enables students to analyze, evaluate, and formulate business decisions in the light of ethical and societal considerations. It will enable students to manage organisations and their activities in a socially responsible way through the ability to evaluate CSR practices as applied to various business issues. Our emphasis on sustainable, responsible and ethical business practices attracts a cross section of up-and-coming leaders who share a common business vision.

Strategic Management

The module explores how an organization could develop widely supported and high quality decisions in a manner that would ensure its ability to succeed and remain sustainable. The course helps students to learn how to translate a strategy into action in organizations and engage with the challenges that the implementation of strategy brings about in order to ensure sustainable success in a rapidly changing environment. The module will also contribute effectively to analysis to problems of risks inherent in strategic decisions and recommend appropriate options for organizational growth and sustainability within and across different sectors.

Management Consultancy Project

Management consultants provide advisory services to organizations (public, private and not-for-profit) regarding management problems, challenges and opportunities. This subject introduces students to the nature and characteristics of the consulting industry, major practice areas in consulting and the value creation activities of management consultants. As such it looks at the relevant business research and analysis instruments and processes of sourcing and delivering consulting work. The subject informs students about appropriate performance measures in different business enterprises, and alerts students to the responsibilities of professional and ethical consulting practices.

Internship abroad

  • International Week in London. Internship at Kingston University at the end of 1st year of study. Choice of 2 elective courses in accordance with the curriculum.

Entery Requierements

  • Academic: Higher Education or recognized equivalent from a professional body
  • AGE: Age above 25 y. o.
  • Work experience: Managerial experience not less than 3 years
  • References: Two letters of reference from employers or from an employer
  • English proficiency: English language skills 6.5 IELTS
  • Motivation: Motivation letter (750- 1000 words maximum) within application form.
  • An updated CV
  • Interview with the Dean and Programme Director (Russia, the UK)

Admission Process

  • After receiving a candidate's application form, the first stage in our admissions process is to confirm that the candidate meets the criteria listed in the table above. So it is crucial for you to send us all the evidence and documents we require.
  • When we have determined that a candidate meets our criteria, we normally arrange an interview with the Russian course director. This is either in a face-to-face meeting or by telephone.
  • After this step your application will be forwarded further and you will have interview with Academics from the UK. It can be a skype call or face- to -face interview.
  • Finally, you will receive the confirmation from Kingston University.
  • We will be in contact with you throughout the admissions process, after your initial application, so you know what the next step is on the route to your MBA.
